Do you know that you can claim an exemption from a creditor taking your money or property? This applies if the creditor sued and got a judgment against you. It applies if the creditor tries to take money or property that the law says is exempt. You only have ten days to claim an exemption. That is from the time the creditor sends you notice. You don't count weekends or holidays in that time period. But, it is important to file a claim of exemption right away.
